Madeline 1: I'm bored and stuck inside because of the ice storm. I just finished rereading Catching Fire, maybe I should reread Mockingjay too?
Madeline 2: No. You hate that book.
Madeline 1: Maybe it isn't as bad as I remember. I should give it another shot.
Madeline 2: It's terrible. And the movie will be just as bad.
Madeline 1: Maybe not! Catching Fire was so good. Francis Lawrence and the writers really seem to understand the source material. There are so many terrific actors and actresses involved...
Madeline 2: Doesn't matter if the source material sucks!
Madeline 1: It wasn't that bad...
Madeline 2: Okay bitch, maybe you don't remember how miserable that book was, but I do. All of the characters lose their minds. The nicest character goes completely batshit and never fully recovers. There is a weird tonal shift. It taints everything that came before it. And your favorite character dies in a horrifying way.
Madeline 1: (hands over ears) No, no, make it stop!
Madeline 2: "The mast of a boat, a silver parachute, Mags laughing, a pink sky, Beetee’s trident, Annie in her wedding dress, waves breaking over rocks..."
Madeline 1: Okay, I won't fucking read it!
Madeline 2: Good...
Madeline 2: But maybe we'll still go see the movie.
